ACS has been shortlisted for the Aviation Innovation Award at the Aviation Industry Awards UK 2026 for its Passenger Screening Facility, delivered at Cornwall Airport Newquay.
The project has been recognised for its innovative approach to delivering airport security infrastructure within a live operational environment.
Rather than relying on traditional construction methods, the Passenger Screening Facility was manufactured off site before being transported and installed at the airport. This significantly reduced on-site construction activity, minimised disruption to day-to-day airport operations and accelerated the programme.
The completed facility, comprising 14 modular units and two passenger screening lanes, enables Cornwall Airport Newquay to process up to 500 passengers per hour while supporting the introduction of next-generation CT screening technology.
The shortlist recognises innovation from across the aviation industry, and we’re proud to be included alongside some of the sector’s leading organisations.
The winners will be announced at the Aviation Industry Awards UK in September.

“This project started with a conversation about doing things differently. Working closely with Cornwall Airport Newquay, we challenged the traditional approach to delivering airport infrastructure and created a solution that kept the airport fully operational while introducing the latest screening technology. It's a project the whole team is incredibly proud of, and to see it shortlisted for an Aviation Industry Award is fantastic recognition for everyone involved.”
